You suffered many bad things from your mother. Yet it can be very hard to fully blame our parents. In our heart of hearts we may blame ourselves rather than accuse our parents.
Thanks for this!

I was literally just sat here in tears wondering why I blame myself. I didn't ask for this. People treat me like it's a fundamental part of my life and I live with it happy as Larry, happy to blame everything on everyone else. That's so far from the truth it's unreal.

I completely hear and empathise with you.
Thanks for this!

If you grew up with everybody blaming you for things, it makes sense that you continue to blame yourself. I grew up this way and I am very hard on myself too.

Along that line--it's easier to think we did something wrong because then we can "correct it" and win our parents' love, even though that may never happen because it's an issue with the parents, not with us. At a young age, to realize that our parents would never love us, no matter what we did, would be devastating.

I had to show compassion to my younger self and reparent myself before I felt less of the blame. I had to learn, in therapy, to give myself that love that my parents never gave me.
Thanks for this!

Crying I believe you said you were on the waiting list for therapy. If you can find a therapist you like there you will find the privacy you want to fully explore your issues.

I hope you will not have to wait too long.
