I am falling back into old habits but now I am medicated. I don't purge a lot and not usually very often but I am having trouble keeping hydrated enough and I am worrying I won't get the full dose of my medication.
I know I should just stop purging, but honestly if I do that I will just do something else self-destructive. So I was just looking for any suggestions on keeping hydrated and medicated.

i wish people had offered suggestions to you because i was wondering last night how i could get more fluids myself. i have enough water to get my meds down morning and night and my cup of in the morning and it seems nothing else the rest of the day. its like i am just not thirsty. i have a big bottle of water on my desk but i just dont think to drink it. so one thing i am doing is drinking the entire cup of solo water when i take my meds. that is giving me at least 32 oz of water a day. still half as much of the minimum of what you are supposed to have but it is a start. anytime i take a drink of anything i try to keep drinking as much as possible. i wish i had something to offer you.

Thanks. I am working on drinking tea and hot chocolate. I guess coffee and diet soda dehydrate you so you should stay away from those. I eat popcorn which is a good binge food because of the lack of calories. I pop it myself on the stove and that makes you thirsty. So does spicy food and spicy food actually increases metabolism. If you want to talk feel free to pm me. I only sort of do the eating disorder stuff off and on. It isn't my main issue and I have info from a eating disorder iop I went to that might help you.

Hello! SO keeping hydrated is definitely one of the hardest things. I suffer from bulimia myself and I take medications everyday. Overall, the best way to ensure that you get the full dose of your medication is to stop purging all together. Which I am still working on..
However the best ways I have found to help keep hydrated without worrying about calories and such are to 1. Always carry a litre water bottle with you. Force yourself to stay hydrated and tell yourself to atleast finish one litre a day. This also helps with weight loss and keeps you more awake and alert! Really does help to get your body going. 2. Start off your morning drinking fresh lemon water, little boost to your immune system and the lemon helps to keep you hydrated, detoxifies your body and adds a little flavour.. ![]() 3. Throughout the day, I'm not sure about you but for me, particularly after purging I am always cold, so a nice cup of tea always helps to soothe that. Always try and keep tea handy! even a few tea bags in your purse or in a little pouch. Green tea is great, calorie free, great for your body. I also find peppermint tea to be extremely soothing for my stomach (with meds) and with purging. Also remember that drinking water, teas etc.. can be calorie free, and excellent for your body. So much water is lost through purging so just push yourself to rehydrate. I hope this helps and that this message finds you well xxx |
