For my inner child, I did the following:
I cooked sushi, watched a movie I had been wanting to watch for a long time.
I even managed to distract myself from my problems a bit and enjoy the sushi)

I didn’t get that either.

My parents are long gone now so don’t know how much harm was done to me by that but they’d deny it anyway. Even as an adult I crave validation.

I came on here. I also wondered why people have to try and tell other ppl what they should accept and expect of life. If it weren't for the people who believed we deserved better - where would we be? Sorry,not necessarily inner child stuff, but ppl have this 'this is the way it is' mentality, built off their own limited narcissistic vision. Maybe the inner child is hopeful and sees what the adult can't.

That is SO TRUE.

I hate the word "should" and a lot of people tell me I "should" or "shouldn't" this and that. The word has a negative connotation for sure. A former friend used to say stuff like "You just have to think_______" or "You have to see it this way." No, I don't. And who the eff is she anyway??!!!

Children are more perceptive than adults and I agree they see things that adults don't.
