share your experiences of what dolls you had as a kid.

I had amazing amy (like I mentioned in another thread) and you could feed her, give her medicen, take her for a ride in a little buggy and she even wet herself sometimes.

I also had a couple barbi dolls. the one I remember most is the supermarket one, complete with a little checkout and little plastic food items

and I had barbie on the beach and barbie goes dancing.

can you tell yet I miss my dolls?

Yes, I can tell you have good memories of them. In what kinds of ways do you remember how you played with them?

amy used to get dressed in red and taken for a ride around in her little carage. I treated her like a real baby- she was near enough a newborn, with every baby accessory you could think of, so I have fun pretending she was a real baby girl (even if most of her accessories were made of plastic. lol)
as for the shop, I used to have little plastic people and tey'd come in to the shop and barbie would serve them (obvviously all pretend), but I'd do all the checking out on the till and handle the fake money
the other 2 (beach barbie and dancing barbie), I made stories up involving them and their accessories.

this thread has me sooooo nistalgic. not felt like this in quite some time.. I'm thinking about getting a new amy doll for my birthday (no kidding!)

I had a baby doll girl I carried around a lot from place to place like a real baby.

I also had a Barbie and Ken doll. I dressed them and they rode around in a car and such.

I still have a couple of my dolls from childhood, but they're in a box in the attic.

I just found out that I can't have the doll I want for christmas, stopped selling it a couple years ago

I'm still going to check ebay, just in case, but time to think about trying to find a new doll just as good, or to just forget the idea of owning one

The way you played with them was very sweet and healthy.

I had a baby doll that looked real too. I played with her like a mother and my baby. My dog bit and latched on to her soft legs, so she then had bite marks on them. I also used to dress my dog like a baby and he’d ride in the toy carriage.

My Barbies were...um...trampy, lol, and I played with them until I was 10 with my bff.

The one time my brother decided to play dolls with me, he played out a crazy scenario where the two dolls were racing across a farm in a car chase and they ended up flying off a cliff! Very Thelma and Louise lol.
I had a Sindy car, tent and big wardrobe I really loved playing with. I’d do a lot of camping scenes and stuff.

so not posted to this topic for a while, but I am generally looking for suggestions for a new baby doll as the one I want (amazing amy) doesn't sell anymore. they stopped making her. I'm thinking that for my birthday I might treat myself to a new baby doll.. it needs too be like a real baby- eat, take a bottle, go to sleep, cry, suggestions welcome.
