I'm so damn sick of this pain. It's keeping me up at night making me short and irritable. It's getting worse. Sometimes I cant make a fist and other times my fingers draw up. My forarm mucsle is hard and painful. And my head is'nt setting on my neck straight. I can't go to the ER. They are under the impression my GP is treating my pain. So they told me to not come back over neck/back problems. I have tried TENS unit, ice, heat, flexerill, valiums, nothing works. What am I supposed to do? I need to go to the hospital.

((Thunderbear)) - I can't remember what's your exact diagnosis? Is there something structurally wrong? What kind of relief did the doctor recommend? Would physio help or surgery? Sorry for all the questions but I know some stretching exercises but I'm worried about making you worse. If I know more about what the exact diagnosis - then I can recommend some stretches. How about a muscle relaxer? I'm sorry you're in severe pain.

They dx me with degenerative discs, reversal of lordosis, degenerative spine, permanant whiplash and bone spurs, 3 in my neck 2 in lower back. But I have pinched a nerve some where in my neck and it's causing a weird throbbing down my arm to my middle finger. My friend said to keep going to the ER they'll get tired of seeing and do something. I have been taking 20mg flexril and those did'nt help and I tried a 5mg Valium, that didnt help. I tried a 10mg vicodin and that did'nt help. I went to phys therapy but my gp said it was making my neck worse. That spine doc wants to do shots but thats 2 weeks away and depends on if my insurance picks back up before then. I'm just stuck with it I guess

Thanks for the reply ((Thunderbear)). I won't recommend any stretching exercises since you have structural problems. Do you have a specialist taking care of you? Will the shots be a cortisone shot or something else? I hope you'll get the shots no matter what. I had cortisone shots because I have a 'frozen shoulder' problem - it helped alot.

Also be aware of your body position, when you're on the computer. If I'm not careful my shoulder get worse if I don't pay attention to how I'm sitting. I'm sorry you're in such pain.

I don't see a specialist other than the spine doc and that 2 weeks away. He did'nt say what kind of shots but I am definetly going to try them. Thanks for posting. I hope this goes away soon.
