I haven't been here in quite a while but I'm having a hugh pain flare. I feel so alone the pain is unrelenting going on 2 weeks now. I have been a chronic pain patient for over 25 years and have many diagnosis, fibro, chroin pain syndrome, myofascial pain syndrome severe degenerative disc disease had 2 spine surgeries rib resection for thoracic outlet syndrome four level ACDF with titanium plate. Anyway I having a great deal of pain and just can't get it under control. Its so hard because if your'e not in pain you simply can't understand it. My family loves me and I know that but they don't walk the same road. I'm so depressed just have the black cloud hanging over me starting to have obsessive just let me die thoughts which I know lead to a very dark place trying so hard to not go there but just can't get it together I guess I just came here tonight so that I would know that I am not alone in this exhausting walk of PAIN.

I'm sorry I didn't see this before --- bless your heart. I'm so sorry you're in such pain. I've ALSO been a chronic painer for over 25 years, and there are times that I just want to scream cause the pain is so severe. I'm on quite a low dose of medications cause my doc just doesn't understand -- he's too afraid of "addiction" which is absurd. For one thing, I'm almost 63 years old -- who CARES if I get addicted at this point? I've been on meds for over 25 years, and I'm NOT addicted now?? So why would I get addicted if he upped the meds just a LITTLE??? He has me on only 10mg of Methadone 3 times a day. Now how is THAT going to help?? Plus I'm on .75mcg Fentanyl patch. Big deal. I haven't had an increase in probably 8 years. By this time, nothing works anymore. And I can't change doctors cause ( you won't believe this) there are NO doctors in this area who prescribe narcotic pain medications --- NONE. I have called them ALL -- and NONE prescribe them for chronic pain. I would have to drive close to 100 miles in order to see a doctor who WOULD prescribe them, other than the doc I'm seeing now. And I can't do that --- I'm too disabled for that.

Maybe I should have a little cheese with that whine, huh? LOL

Are you in pain management? I hope you've seen a pain doctor. They can help you (usually) more than a regular doctor. If you haven't, get a referral to a pain doc -- they are anesthesiologists and usually do different procedures to try to reduce the pain. Some of them are really successful!!!

I wish you the very best! Please keep me posted on how you do, okay?? God bless and take care. Hugs, Lee
