Hi,
My mum has recently been diagnosed with chronic pain, and will be on medication indefinitely. I just wondered if there is any way I could support her. Will it get worse over time? I'm just worry about her and want to be there for her as much as possible. I just don't know what I can do to support her. Any suggestions? When you're having a particularly bad day, what helps you? Thanks! ![]() |

Hi, Little Jay. When my mom started going through chronic pain, I started to do little things for her. You know the normal stuff that has to get done: putting dishes away, vaccuming, and when I was home one the weekends she would have me wash her sheets and remake the bed. It seems that was real hard for her with the king sized bed. Yes, I'm sorry to say her pain did get worse and as is it did she would let me help by going to the store for her and putting up her groceries. She had a cleaning lady come by once a week and do the cleaning. So I just did the little things and wait on her when she would let me.
Sorry about your mom. It's hard to watch loved ones suffer. I hope something I said helped give you some ideas. ![]()

Helping out with every day chores, getting a drink for her while she rest, doing weekly grocery shopping or running errands when she is having a bad day is always welcomed. I have RA and do what I can on my good days and rest when bad days hit me all at once. I am always appreciative of any help my husband or two adult sons can give me when my days are riddled in pain.
