Does anyone else with fibromyalgia have problems with the flu shot. My whole right side is sore. It's hard to sleep and I just noticed a bruise where I got the shot. Seriously considering not getting one next year. My sister says she never gets them, but I do work in a call center and my immune system isn't anything to write home about so I don't know. Maybe it's worth it. I have a fever too and headache. Which I pretty much live with all the time but the flu shot amplifies it.oh that's soo funny. In the title of this thread a typo made a naughty word. Well sorry guys and galls. The"I"and the"o"are right by each other so shot became *****.

The flu shot always makes me achy for a couple of days - both where the shot was given and some generalized aching. The generalized aching is caused by the body mounting a 'defense' the vaccine contents. Some years I also get a low grade fever the day after the shot.

I never like the way I feel afterward the shot but I have had the flu a couple of times and the shot sure beats the actual flu .

I'm sorry to have chuckled but have to say thanks, I clicked on it because I was wondering what the title meant. (I don't get many chuckles).. and I'm sorry for it causing you troubles though This forum is funny sometimes when typos are made.
It is relevant to me today though, my dad, had most of one lung removed over 25 years ago, and gets one every year. It scares me today, because 3 days ago he got his flu shot, and he says he is feeling sick. When he gets the flu it could kill him. I wonder too if these shots don't have a bad reaction. My great aunt died a few days after getting one.
Not trying to scare you or anything. I'm worried about my dad. I've never had a flu shot and never will, my kids either. I don't believe they are helpful as there are so many strains of flu each year and the strains keep changing

I'm high risk if I get the flu because of my asthma. I don't get the shot though. I was sick for a week after I got my last one. I figure I can get the shot and be sick for a week or I can get the flu and be sick for a week. I'll gamble that I don't get the flu.

To the OP, you can "report" the thread and ask a mod to fix the subject line for you.

Negative evidence here, but no, I don't have any problems with the flu shot. My arm barely gets sore and I don't notice any symptoms from it.

I have fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, psoriatic arthritis, and depression.

I get a flu shot every year. Even though I don't seem to catch things terribly easily, if I do get something, it lasts about 3 times as long as average.

I don't know what causes people to react to the flu shot. I know very healthy people who get it and it makes them so sick the end up missing part of a day of work. It's a mystery to me.

I might not get one if I were you. If you do get flu, if you get Tamiflu right away, it's not nearly so bad.
