Hi onyx,
I have been on lyrica for nearly a year for nerve pain...and am now being weaned off it. It does work...but you have to gradually keep increasing the dose to get the same results...I have now reached max dose of 600 mg a day and it does not work anymore. This drug is a controlled substance and is addictive and one of its most common side effects is weight gain. I gained 50 lbs while on lyrica...at first the weight gain was a good trade off for the pain relief...but now I am left with no more pain relief and 50 lbs to lose. I am starting Ultram for nerve pain now.. which works (not as good as lyrica did at first)...but comes with its own set of problems (sigh)... I hope you have good luck with lyrica... I just wanted to share my experience. Debbie |
