Hi Rhapsody,

I have heard much about Lyrica and hear mixed results about it. Hopefully, it will work well for you.

Take Care,

My husband was prescribed Lyrica for nerve damage due to his colon cancer. He wanted to replace the ridiculously high dosage of Morphine Sulfate he was taking. It didn't seem to do anything for his pain, and the withdrawal symptoms when he stopped were comparable to the Morphine Sulfate come down.

JMO, hope it works for others.

I've been taking Lyrica for fibro for several months. It has helped me with the burning nerve pain I had been getting in my arms and legs with any activity. Definately worth trying.

But don't expect it to cure your fibromyalgia. It is designed to deal with just the neurological pain aspect and there are aches that it doesn't seem to touch. Does nothing for the fatigue either, although some people say it makes them more tired. (I'm too tired to notice any slight change. )

Good luck,

Nan

Lyrica is an anti seizure medication that also blocks some of the pain signals. I have peripheral neuropathy and from what i read and hear it helps some people with pain a lot, some a little and some not at all. It also leads to weight gain in a lot of people. It was put on the market as neurontin was starting to be made generically. It is also very expensive if you do not have a prescription plan. If you come off of it too rapidly it can cause seizures, the same as neurontin.

Just be sure to be aware of all the side effects of the drug. It had quite a few it listed. Let us know if it helps.
