Well the weather heated up here today. I have had lots of drama with my daughter the last few days. I ended up not feeling really well and I wasn't sure what it was then I ended up throwing up. I think I am tried and dehydrated. I have also been swimming in the morning and at night and that takes a lot out of me.

I know this is going to sound dumb but I want my old body back. I hardly eat but I am fluffy thanks to prednisone hubby doesn't mind but I do.

So I just did 15 laps and I am trying to down a bottle of water. I had a Gatorade which helped a lot. I would love to go to bed but can't just yet because it's just tonhot in our room.

I hope Christina is alright and I am glad Liz made it to her safe place. Our other friend didn't even loose power. He has a lot of tree branches down and stuff so he will have a lot of clean up. We still need to hear from a few people.

Hubby is driving me nuts watching it on tv. He used to live in Florida and would like to retire there.

Ok everyonenhave a good night I am going to go and throw up some more. And the cat McGee sits and watches me. Not cool

Cake, I hope you feel better. Maybe you need to go get some IV fluids at the ER. Dehydration is so dangerous. I'm so sorry you feel so sick, my friend. Please don't retire to FL! I thought you were going to make your daughter just deal with her father and not you. What happened?

Where did you read about Liz getting to her safe place? I didn't see it. Is there another thread somewhere? I'm so glad she got there. Is there any word from Christina?

Gus, thank you for the fuzzy flower. I wish I was a little pixie and could curl up in it. I'm glad you're feeding the critters.

My little critter is certainly trying to fatten up and the vet is not going to like it. They told me to keep her right at seven pounds and I think she's gained a little bit. Did I tell you that she's going to have to have two teeth pulled? They are looking worse and I found a place on her gum that is inflamed. She's eating just fine though. I'll have to find out what to feed her after she's had her teeth pulled. I sure don't want her to get dry socket.

Many hugs to all.

Hauled asp to Tennessee, we are okay , waiting on power and gas available to go back down, we have no internet or Tv up here , so we have to drive into town to use our phones,

All our adult kids are safe that's what mattered to me , they also headed north.

Anyone effected by this stay safe

I posted a long message about the storm here

https://forums.psychcentral.com/gene...ml#post5814881

Bottom line is that I'm home. No damage at my house of my mom's. Critters are happy to be home. Mikey was not a happy man being locked in a crate. He needs his mom cuddle time. He's been glued to me since we got home.

I'm sore and exhausted. Prepping the property prior to the storm is physically demanding. Then there was packing and unpacking the truck. Oh yeah, we had to haul a downed tree out of the way at my friend's.

Thanks to all for kind thoughts. Will catch up with everyone the next few days. Am too tired to do it tonight.

Liz and Christina, it is so good to hear from you! I'm so glad you are safe and that your families and critters are safe, too.

My neighbors are driving me crazy. They are such nice people, but they are very loud and I've just got to get some sleep sometime. I'm grouchy and out of sorts due to lack of sleep and that's just not like me.

Just a heads up that I will not be on line again until Friday evening or Saturday. I need to go to my mom's house to do some clean up. No computer or internet there.

So I see the neurosurgeon again today, and I saw my pain doc yesterday. Last shot didn't help like they had hoped and pain doc looked at CT scan from last week also. The MRI had shown moderate stenosis in L4/L5, the CT is showing severe.

With the MRI, they were hesitant about surgery, but after seeing the CT, pain doc tentatively scheduled surgery for Oct 5th. He just wants me to see the neurosurgeon today to make sure he is on board. Unless he is absolutely against it, we are going forward with the surgery.

This particular surgery is to putf in a Superion device. It's relatively new, but pain doc is hopeful that it will work. One inch incision, day surgery. Hopefully easy recovery.

Change of plans again. Not like that happened at all in the last week!

I came home after work today. I was going to stay overnight near the office and work there tomorrow. My boss gave me permission to work from home. He asked I keep a log of what I do in case senior management wants proof I worked. None of us are supposed to work from home this week. We either go to our office or use vacation time. Our rationale is going to be that my office is closed and without power since the school where I'm based is closed until further notice. It was hairy driving to the other office today. Traffic lights were out, including major intersections. Thankfully most people were being good little boys and girls and treating the intersections as four-way stops.

I'm glad to be home tonight. Been away so much the last week. I wanted to be in my space with my critters and my stuff. Does that sound silly?

Child, I have a friend with a problem that sounds similar to yours. She had the surgery and has been very satisfied with the results. She still has occassion pain, usually after she does something she shouldn't have, but it's not often and no where near the level it used to be. Crossing fingers for you.

Well, I saw the rheumy today... First time. Fairly useless. Said 'yep, you have fibro; take Advil with coffee (stimulant) for pain, and take Prilosec for the gastritis-like pain the Advil causes your stomach. It's main side effect is diarrhea (I told him I deal with IBS); well then you're already used to it, so no biggie.'
Huh.

Made it home today, was a long almost 16 hour trip. I did all the driving, my husband just feels awful and needs to heal from his fall, I think we need to go see his doctor tomorrow, the er prior to Irma brushed it off as just a simple fall nothing obviously broken ( eye roll )

Everyone be kind to yourselves (((( hugs)))

I'm so worn out , but as of right now my focus is on him.
