The Fibromyalgia check in thread #4

i don't have Fibro, either, Candy, but i remember not being able to walk 100 ft without gasping in pain... i don't like to talk about pain, my theory being that focussing on it makes it worser, but i don't mind if you talk about it~
i'm just here to try to put a smile on your face once a day or so...

Candy, welcome to the group. PC is a great place, but the folks who post here are the best!

Gus, that is one PO'd looking bird!

Thanks for the responses about CBD oil. I see my pdoc in a couple of weeks. I'm going to ask if it's safe with my psych meds.

Latest flare seems to be subsiding. Hallelujah! Pain is down to it's usual background noise level. Helps that I got 11 hours sleep last night.

Several pages back someone mentioned knee braces. I have arthritis in both knees. I use Ace-like support braces that I buy at Wally World. They are elastic with metal stays on the side. They just slip on. Cost is $10-15. They work great for me.

Today my beautiful granddaughter graduates from high school. I can hardly believe it. Besides she is so brilliant she skipped her junior year and is graduating at 16, college in the fall. While celebrating, I am so anxious for her; she is so young. Depressed for me (they grow up and don't come except at the holidays...). Thankfully the pain is at 'background noise level', too, which is odd but for which I am so very grateful today.

Hi Candy. Welcome! You belong with us.

Miss Belle and I are here.

I went to the ortho. He can't do anything more for my left knee other than replace it. There is some improvement though, with the SimVisc One shots, and I'm pleased. He gave me two really ugly braces to wear when I shop for groceries or go to Wally World. I told him I wasn't proud and would be happy to wear them if they decrease my pain. They are a horrible royal blue and black!

He gave me a shot in the base of my thumb to try to fix the pain. He said if that doesn't make it go away, it must be arthritis and we'd take a different route. Well, it didn't fix it, so I guess it's arthritis instead of trigger thumb.

Belle is eating again! Thank Heavens! She is having chicken, carrots and green beans, all minced or shredded.

Her walking harness is a small, but if she doesn't want to go where I want her to go, she can pull out of it. She puts her little head down and plants her feet and pulls backwards. She desperately wanted to play with a tiny kitten today that wanted absolutely no part of Belle. Belle tried to escape again to go where the kitten was. I have taken a carabine (sp?) clasp and I put it on her halter and through her collar. Maybe this will work. I don't think she can get into an extra small harness. The small is too large and the extra small is too small.

Anyway, she's eating again, so life is good.

Oh, what is CMD oil? Have any of you ever used hemp oil capsules? I have two friends who swear by them. They buy the Walmart kind instead of the really expensive kind. I've read a lot about it. It doesn't have the components of pot that make you high. It's completely different. It helps their pain and inflammation. What do you think of this?

I have now lost 80 pounds. Nothing fits. Thank heavens for safety pins!

I love you all!

Trigger! Trigger!!! Trigger!!!!!!

I can't remember how to do the trigger hiding, so please don't read this if you are not in a good place.

My granddaughter tried to commit s and she is getting help. Her Mom and Dad did something horrible and now I haven't heard from her in days. I'm very worried about her but all I can do is send messages. I am not allowed to talk to her on the phone.

Yesterday my eldest granddaughter told me she is having s thoughts. I talk to her in messages, too. I offered to find her help. I tried everything, but she thinks she can handle it. She needs help and she won't listen.

If you can, please send good thoughts or prayers for my babies. I have not been allowed to see them for almost 8 years.:(

I've been sick with colitis and pain for a while now. The colitis just kicked in a couple days ago. I canceled my Dr's appt. today and went back to bed.

I am still cooking for Belle every day. I saw a bag of "beef" flavored food at the store I plan to go back and get tomorrow if I am well enough. Maybe she'll like that.

We are here and I am not ignoring anyone. I just am having problems sitting here.

I love you all.

Good wishes to everyone trying to make it with pain. My day was better than usual. PCP changed my meds and gave me a pep talk about stress control (ha...if I could, I would, right?) He is also sending me to a therapist, but I haven't called yet. He thinks the reason for my pain is stress, tension, etc. but I don't know how to eliminate the stress...

Candy, people who are in constant pain are in constant stress. It's the nature of the beast. Going to a therapist is always a good idea when you deal the things we have.

Everyone, Kiya is ok. Maybe she just needed a break. I honestly don't know.

I made it to the family Dr. today. I'm feeling better today but am running a fever. I am going to have the thyroid ultrasounds done.

I found Belle's food today at the store. When I put some in a dish, she seemed really interested and then walked away from it. So, in total desperation, I put a little warm bacon grease on it. She ate one bite of it and hasn't touched it since. I have never, ever heard of a dog not liking bacon grease! Of course, Belle thinks she's a person, but still? (No, I don't eat bacon. I got some bacon grease from my friend because my Mom used to put a dab of it on top her biscuits before she put them in the oven. Oh yum!)

Anyway, I don't know what else to do about Belle's food. Any suggestions are more than welcome.

A woman tried to talk me into painting Belle's toe nails pink today. Belle would be so distressed. So would I.

I'm down 85 pounds now. I tried to eat more today because it's dropping off extra fast and it's starting to scare me.
