Sorry I've been absent lately. Depression plus pain makes me hide a lot.

I see a nurse practitioner at my pain doc today. I'm gonn as push for new imaging of my back where I had surgery last October. I should not be having this much pain, imo. They keep telling me that it will take more time to start working, blah blah blah. Idc what they say, I want a new MRI. I can't keep trying to function at 9 out of 10 on the pain scale and not able to fully stand up. With PT, we are chasing the pain, it's not getting better.

I hope you'll be taken seriously and will get the imaging!

I was meant to look at that stuff that was posted here (the link to the grip things), but still not looked at it yet

I'm thinking it could serve as a good christmas present if I can somehow find the money or someone who is willing to buy me one

I don't know where I am with my pain today

a little numb I guess on my right side (and it's usually my left, so that's weird)

ah well.. no plans today. just gotta make sure I win my bet I have with a friend

She said if the pain us the same as before the surgery, that there is no point in new imaging. I was told before surgery there was a 70% chance it would be successful. So she's going with it was not successful. The other option I had at that time was partial fusion. I was given a referral to a spine surgeon who does more invasive surgeries. I requested this particular doctor over the one I had my 2nd opinion with last year. This one has done 3 surgeries for my mother, all successful. Hoping he will want imaging...

Tried posting something awhile ago, but couldn't. It's been raining here all day which means lousy internet connection for me.

Thanks to everyone for birthday wishes. I had to laugh at myself yesterday. I'd forgotten it was my birthday until I got a text from a friend. When I was younger I couldn't understand why "older" people would say that their birthday was no big deal. I guess I know what they meant now. Gus, that is one incredible lizard cake!

Several of you mentioned resting for my birthday. Er, ugh, I spent the last two days busting my arse taking care of things at Mom's house. I don't know what the heck the nasty letter was about. The place needed some spiffing up, but there are other houses on the block that look worse. BTW, I'm still waiting on a reply from the president of the HOA.

I was up before the crack of dawn this morning. I had to reset the time on my alarm clock last night. I messed up and set it for the wrong time. Ended up with the alarm going off at 6, not 7!

Up early to call the vet to see if she could see Boomer (cat) today. I got home yesterday to discover he was one sick boy. They are so great at my vet. The schedule was full, but they squeezed us in. The little man may have an upper respiratory infection of it could be something potentially very serious (cancer). We are treating it as if it's an infection. If he's not on the mend by Monday we need to go back for follow-up. Been a rough year for the cats. Krissy died in January. Ollie is still dealing with his ongoing urinary problems. Now Boomer.

I decided to be wise and give my body a chance to rest today. It's rained all day so working outside was not an option. I spent the afternoon lazing on the couch reading, dozing, watching the babble box. I know it's what my body needed but I feel like a lazy slug. How do the rest of you cope with doing what's right for your body and that nagging little voice in your head that says you are being lazy?

So I know I have been MIA lately and I am sorry. I miss you guess. Liz those people need a good kick in the butt. There is always someone that has to complain and cause trouble and once you retire it seems to get worse. Our neighbors were retired and they complained every chance they got about our dogs about us our garbage cans were not put outside right etc. and he refused to talk to me he would only talk to my husband or my brother in law who lived with us at the time. I got called home from work from animal control and the police. You step on my property my dogs will bark this guy used to hit the fence and yell at the dogs. Once I proved that my dogs were not dangous everything was fine. Few years later they ended up needed our help. They are older and sickly. They have 5 daughters but the closest one was well over 2 hours away. They came to depend on us a lot. When they would call 911 they would tell them to go get me and I was the one who usually had to call their kids. It got to the point that two officers responded one came and got me the other went to the house. But no you don't need that drama.

Liz take care of yourself. You are a very very special lady.
