It's weird how some certain pains are universal. All kinds of pain. But yet there are those who handle the same pain differently. But I can only speak for myself. And the physical pains I have may not bother others the same way they bother me. Some don't even show their pain or in some cases even speak about it.

My pain could be MUCH worse. So I criticize myself for even talking about it.
I understand all of that. The fact is that I have no support from the people I need support from. And that's what's the most pain of all. I know there's love out there but I can't find it. Somebody to just give a **** ! One of the main problem is that my pain prevents me from venturing out into the world. This post seems to be as far as I can get. BTW : my pain is universal.
If you've read this far , thank you.

I've been living in chronic pain for 17 years...

I want you to know that you are heard, believed and understood.

It's heartbreaking that those closest to us abandon us when we need them most.

It's also disgusting how the medical community treats us.

We deserve better...

Folks that rely on opiods for pain management not only deal with pain, they get caught in the crossfire in the war on drugs.

My wife's pain started suddenly 18 years ago due to a spinal cord injury.

Sometimes a harmless sensation can get sent to the brain and felt as excruciating.

The pain destroyed both of our lives. Stress and anxiety make it worse.

Yes, a few days ago, my wife was in severe pain after a procedure, and she was calling (over and over) for a pain med. A nurse said, "Shhh, you'll upset the other patients."

When the doctor finally showed up to order a medication, he told me, "I hardly did anything!"

Then as I was consoling my wife, I overheard him say, "Give her a placebo." Then he looked over at me and realized I heard. He did order a proper medication after all, according to the chart.

I reported the incident to Patient Relations.

I wish all the jokers in congress that put impossible rules on doctors would feel the pain they say is not real. All the insurance industry who limits pain meds, they too should feel the pain. I was fortunate when dealing with my back pain, my main drs believed me. It was the industry as a whole that had a problem.

* I'm so sorry that you've had to deal with chronic pain for so long.
Did it have a negative effect on your family life ? Most people just don't want to deal with us . We're annoying to them. It hurts us so much.

I wan t you to know that you are heard, believed and understood.

* Thank you for hearing me , believing me , and understanding. I appreciate it so very much. Your positive vibes are felt.

It's heartbreaking that those closest to us abandon us when we need them most.

* That's even worse than the physical pain. It kinda sucks when the people closest to you for so many years just seem to be waiting for you to die. God , how it hurts....

It's also disgusting how the medical community treats us.

* I've been through the whole trip. It's hard to find a doc who really gives a ****.
$$$$$$$ is what is most important to them.

We deserve better...

* We certainly do. After all that we have contributed to the benefit of others during our lifetime.

I've been estranged from my family for over 30 years due to abuse issues @moodyblue83...

However, several people I'd counted as friends fell away (or outright ghosted me) along the way.

I gave up on the medical community as I got tired of being disrespected and jerked around...

It's emotionally painful to learn that human beings can be so callous to our suffering.

I've found this site and another site that focuses on my particular condition to be quite helpful and supportive... It's not the same as in real life, but it's also better than being totally isolated and alone while dealing with it.

I am so sorry that you are feeling such emotional pain on top of the physical pain...

It's the wrong kind of double-doozie for sure!
