I know fibro is not funny. Fibro fog is not funny. But come on folks, some of the things fibro fog makes us do are hysterical. Let's share some of those stories with each other.

I had a great story to start us off, but I can't remember it!!!

here are some others.....

Almost daily I stand in the shower trying to remember if I washed my hair, right after washing it.

Then there was the time I found the cordless phone in the fridge.

Or I find myself standing with something in my hand and wonder why I have it in my hand.

Or go out get in the car. Put the key in the ignition and wonder "Where was I going?"

OK, folks it's your turn....

How about when you are watching T.V. and a commercial comes on and you forget what T.V. show you are watching?

Well, I just had a new one happen. Earlier I was munching on cereal straight out of the box. A little while ago I reached down to get some cereal... no cereal... no cereal box... spun around in the chair looking for the box.... bent down, looked under the desk... craned up to look on the tiptop of the desk....still no box...what happened to the cereal????

Finally got up and went in search of the runaway cereal. Where was it? IN THE LIVING ROOM!!!!!

Of all the things I lost, I miss my mind the most!

ha, yes i think all of these have happened to me.
and i'm only 19.
i also frequently just cannot find the word. I can think of any other word in the world, except the one i want. Most of the time, even definitions or synonyms for the word i want-but it drives me nuts, cause i know these other words are completely fine- but it just isn't the one i want!

hmmmm..... i'm trying to think of others-cause there are definitely many of them- i just can't remember

Mine always seem to revolve around how things work. Like on a recent trip on an airplane, I couldn't figure out how the seat belt worked (even though I've flown a bazillion times) and thought it was broken. I tried and tried until the woman next to me had to strap me in, lol. I was amazed at how easy she did it.

Just the other day I was at the post office, trying to use my debit card. For some reason I couldn't figure out where to swipe my card even though the machine is just like all the others.

The other day I couldn't remember how to turn on the vacuum cleaner. Thinking I was making excuses on why I didn't vacuum, my husband said "That's a good one, hon." LOL.

Kathryn, most of what we folks with fibro go through is stuff others go through too. It's a matter of degree and frequency.

Thanks for the link. Good article and funny stories.

Just yesterday my mother told me to go to the kitchen to get something.

Now, the kitchen is like, six feet walk from the living room.

By the time I got to the kitchen i stood staring at the cupboards. Do you think I could think of what I went in there for?

And so i asked her, and she told me.

Heres the kicker.

I grabbed something totally unrelated and brought it back into the living room. I had forgotten and taken a guess within those short few seconds.

My mother asked me what in gods name I was doing with a can of soup in the living room when she sent me to get baby cookies.

At 41 my FOG leaves me looking as though I am a 80 year old white haired lady trying to locate her car in the parking lot of Wal-mart.... you know the ones we used to snicker at when we were teenagers.

This is why I use Firefox.. i open the response window in a new tab, because I constantly have to go back and read the post to see what I am replying to
