I have a question about how people get there "title" under there name?

Like for ex. Bobby Sue
poohbah

Sally Boo hoo
legendary wise elder

What makes Bobby Sue less then a legendary wise elder

and like how could a person keep say "legendary wise elder" if they have been kicked out for 2 weeks or something?

This is bugging the whoowee out of me cause I can' t figure it out.

I do assume which one should never assume however moving on..... It must be DocJohn or the mods that give these certain "titles" to these people and I was just trying to find out how the system operates.... so it fair across the board........?

Any ideas as to why this is?

Thanks for your time!

I could be wrong, but I think it has to do with the number of posts and/or the length of time a person has been a member. The title seems to change by the thousand posts or so for the most part. I dunno... I don't give too much credence to the titles - other than the mods.

It has to do with the number of posts someone has I believe, it automatically gives you the title under your name after you acquire so many posts. lol I can never keep up though, and never notice under mine until forever and a day after it has changed.
Thanks for this!

No, but the Wikipedia article does. I first came across the term in one of the Oz books when I was a kid; wasn't aware of the Mikado connection till much later.

Whenever it's important, your friends will probably remind you.

So far the one downside I've discovered to being a moderator is that I didn't get to watch my title change to Grand Poohbah when I passed 1500 recently.
Thanks for this!
