Hi,

I've gone through all the FAQs. I've read every single post on the subject. And I STILL can't get a picture from my computer uploaded as an attachment to a post with the size I want it to be. The picture or pictures are not too large. But the only thing I can get uploaded is tiny. Maybe half an inch by half an inch. The same image on my computer is the size I'd like to copy to a post. It's a jpeg. Instructions for uploading from a third party website have been posted. They don't apply here. How do I get it to be the size I want it? Thanks in advance. Take care!

How about if I try it right now and see what happens? I've picked out a .jpg to try it with.

I click the "Manage Attachments" button. The instructions say that for .jpg attachments the max filesize is 97.7 KB (mine is 88KB) and the max height and width are " - - ".

I click "Browse", select the image on my computer, and click "Upload". After several seconds I see my filename shown as an attachment to this post. Now I'm going to click "Preview Post"...

Sure enough, I get an "Attached Thumbnails" box at the bottom of this post with a miniature copy of the picture about an inch and a half each way. When I click on the thumbnail (right-click, so I can open it in a new tab without losing what I'm writing) I see a respectable-sized copy of my picture, maybe 6 by 8 inches.

What happens differently for you?

Ygrec; I think you might be confused by the word "attachment". I think you want to "insert" an image; that can't be done from your computer, it has to be done from a website (like this one), website to website.

J.D. has said she uploads the pictures into her photo album here and then uses that URL/address in the yellow-mountain/postage-stamp looking button "insert image" slot. I don't know if that will work for you. I own a couple of my own sites and upload pictures to that site and use those urls to get the picture. But you can't go from your computer to a post (only your computer to your avatar); you have to upload first to this site's photo album/another website.

Ygrec23, it may help to upload your pictures to a free site like www.photobucket.com

You can then "edit" the pic and resize it i.e. extra small, small, medium etc. Medium is usually a good size for posting here. I posted the following on the bipolar forum and I hope it helps:

To get pics on posts, profile pages I use this site: http://photobucket.com/ You can upload your own pics or choose from their pics. You can save pics from their options in your album. At the top of the pic you will see a tab that reads "share" click on that tab. Then click the "get link code" tab. Choose IMG for bulletin boards & forums (4th choice). Copy the link and when you paste it in a post or profile page it will automatically show the pic. Let me know if you have any problems.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
