Hi fayerody, those of us with inquiring minds DO read the tech forum hehhehe You can go into your CD drive by clicking on MY COMPUTER and selecting it with a right click, and then click on properties. There should be a tab for recording. Mine also has a "auto detect" to determine fastest speed available (as per my DVD speed.) Hope this helps!

I can't get mine to burn, they just curl up and melt. Oh, you mean computer stuff...never mind.

You don't need to change the brand, but the speed of the CD (I'm sure that's what you meant?) There might be another setting to change, as in your actual PROGRAM that is burning the disks... open that and double check the speed it's trying to run at.. maybe? Computers can burn disks up to the speed they are rated at, so the only other thing is they sold you disks faster than your computer can run LOL
