In the forum sections listing, where sub-forums are listed, there are red & blue blobs and green arrows. What do these mean?

Like this?

Sub-Forums: Red & blue blobs, green arrow Games, Red & blue blobs, green arrow Books, Movies, Music and TV Talk, Red & blue blobs, green arrow Our Pets

Red & blue blobs, green arrow means there are unread posts in that forum. Red & blue blobs, green arrow means there aren't. Red & blue blobs, green arrow is called "subforum link" but it doesn't seem to be an actual link and I don't know what it means. A kind of punctuation or road sign, maybe.

One of the subforum links (green arrowed) is the Psych Central Arcade. It is indeed a link to the game arcade here Come play!
