the site dumps me out of the forums. If I go into chat through the main chat room, then I can keep my forums page open also. Just FYI.

Now I can't get into any chat at all. Says my login name can't be found.

Ok, today I can get into the chat rooms... but the "return to forum" button sends me to an error (cannot find page.) sigh. Computers and programs are really fickle, aren't they? How do men cope?

The last 2 days I haven't been able to go into chat when I want to. Last night it took nearly 20 minutes. I don't know how long I have to try tonight
It says that my login name can't be found. That's whether I try to go into the Psych Central room or Social or Support directly. (Used to be just when I tried to go into Soc or Sup directly, it wouldn't let me.) I think last night I had to reload the site... a few times (so maybe that isn't the problem?)

hi Sky. I would open up a new browser. Sometimes this can help the page stay refreshed. just a thought.

Nothing's changed on our side of the equation, so I don't know what to tell you. The chat room page is just like any other forum page and does the same authentication routines to ensure you're logged in before being allowed into the chat room. There's no reason you should be having any new issues with it from our side.
Also, you can't close or navigate away from the chat browser window that says, "Do not close this window" after you've logged into chat. Navigating off of that page is the same as closing the window to the chat software, and it will also dump you out of chat. That's why all three chat room entry links open a new browser window when you click on them. If none of this is functioning as it should, it is sometimes because people have installed some new program, such as an anti-virus software, pop-up blocker, or other Web browser toolbar. We don't have control over such software or their settings. DocJohn

Thanks for the reply, DocJohn. I'll double check all those if it happens again. I don't close the window...
sometimes it does close the forum page when I go into chat, sometimes not. I can live with that.
