If your blogging account has been suspended over at http://psychcentral.net/ that's because you didn't enable the spam plugin as we asked all users to do.

In order to re-enable your account, simply drop me a PM letting me know the name of the blog and that you've enabled the spam plugin, and I'll be sure to re-enable your account immediately. Thanks!

What's a spam plug-in? (I am assuming it's a cookie that allows your blog to be researched?)

Here are the steps:

1) Log into your blog account
2) From the Dashboard screen, click on the name of your blog
3) Click the link at the top of the screen titled Control Centre
4) On the Control Centre screen, click on the link titled AuthImage under the category "Anti spam management"
5) On the AuthImage Plugin screen, click the "enable" checkbox
6) click Update

This will require a user to enter a (given) code in order to post their comments. Spam generators can't see the code.

Ok tks! I guess that keeps spammers from arbitrarily posting on your blog...but does it keep search engines at bay also?

I don't know. but here's how I think of it-

if their main reason for entering my blog is to spread their spam remarks and they learn that action is blocked and they can't post their spam remarks it gives those that are not interested in anything else the "why both read them for nothing" type incentive.

so I figure spamming as their first intention or not if they keep coming back they must be getting some sort of benefits from it right. Otherwise they would not come back to my blog entries.

So I see the after that first initial come as spammer, cant spam but then they keep coming back as - that person no longer being a spammer but one of my normal readers that are interested in what I post about DID, my research and therapy plans and opions about what I have experiences and uncovered about this disorder ove rthe course of my treatment plan of 5 years going on 6 now.

In this instance I don't see spammers as once a spammer always a spammer. If they can't spread spam and keep coming back they are no longer considered spammers. They just want to learn like everyone else about DID and how to take care of it.

The problem with said spam is most of it comes from autospammers which arent actually people, but are some sort of program or computer which automatically places these ads on your blog.

Though LOTS of companies and people still use people to place spam ads, lots is done by some sort of automatic process as well.

but yes, if you see them come back, I think you should be ok.

even those that program auto spammers give up on the sites that they cannot access for those that they can access. it costs for internet access, wasting time programing auto spam programs with emails and blogs and sites that they cannot get into wastes their wn money. and is no fun when getting no reactions. This was told to me by someone that used to be a spammer.

I can't speak for others but it wasn't ads that was being posted to my blog back in January. It was posts containing some very obnoxious behavior and language. and also one person claiming to be other people but posting the same identical posts word for word and style. That kind of spamming behavior is not done by auto programming machines.

I don't know if they come back for sure or not because I don't have a tracking machine attached to my computer and so on, only the people who own the websites can track who and where the people are foming from that enter the website. But I do know that my blog numbers increase sometimes in the hundreds a day of how many people visit my blog.

Yes I consider me and my blog to be ok. Thanks.
