My computer has been acting starnge ever since I downloaded Limewire to my computer. I also downloaded a few sons on to my libary list.

Ever since that my computer has been acting very strange. For one it's very difficult to log on to my usual sites.

For second my computer refused to turn off last night even when I pressed the off button. After a few hours of fighting to turn it off......or get anything to happen, we had to unplug it.

How do I clean the systems out and make sure there are no viruses?

What can I say but that programs like LiveWire and Napster will always place something unwanted on your computer.... from bugs to Trojans, not to mention undetected files that cannot be removed without causing MAJOR damage to your computer. FREE is not always good!

Do you have a virus scan on your comp from your ISP or another program? - if so run it ASAP!!! - to remove any viruses that might of gotten thru.

Good Luck................

yeah, honestly limewire is well known for its viruses and spyware junk/crap. Though i do doubt it put on anything severe enough to prevent it from shutting down, its possible it is hogging system resources so much that that happened.

If you are just looking for songs, try soulseek. ITs much smaller, doesn't have spyware, and you can generally find whatever you want.

if your looking to download other things, I would start going with torrents because they are safer in general (but everything should still be scanned once downloaded)

Desirae...limewire is a share and share alike program which means that you are sharing other people's files right off their computers and they are sharing yours...
