I'm on car prob #2 in exactly as many weeks. The "check engine emissions" light came on last night. Some times, steady, some times flashing. I was able sneak it into the garage this morning thanks to a kind hearted worker there who called me back saying he'll somehow figure out to charge me for just a one day rental if everything is not covered under warranty. If this is under warranty--and we *think* it might be--then the loaner would be covered by the warranty, too. Being a holiday weekend, I have the loaner for an extra day now. Why do these things always come up on the weekends?! Friday nights--always--never fails. I *NEED* my car. It took a few minutes to get all my stuff moved out of my car and into the loaner. I hate to sleep in a loaner, but guess I have to. Just what I need--more stress. I just really hope this is a warranty repair and I don't have to pay anything. I just spent $300 last time a week and a half ago between the car repair and the motel stay. I really can't afford anything more. If I have to pay for this, I'm going to seriously go nuts! All I have to tentatively calm me now is the fact that I have a loaner and the hope of warranty.

inky...

My point of view on this... EVERYTHING comes in three's... but if you have read any of my posts about the brains pattern-matching instinct, this is because we LOOK for patterns of three everywhere. And when we think we've found one our brain goes seeking for more examples as proof and it finds them everywhere. You may be convinced as all get out that things are occuring in threes, give plenty of examples, and I guarantee that if you were to chart them all mathematically you would see that mathmatically there is absolutely NO correlation, no groupings at all. Even presented with that data our brains often refuse to believe it because the "evidence" of those patterns exist very strongly in our minds.

The importance of this is that the way it works is that three things happen, and we look back and our minds say "aha! there's the pattern again" but that is far different from any physical reality that since "two" things have occured, that a third one is in the wings. It is not. Please take my word for that and don't worry about it Do car probs come in 3's?.

I am hoping that the "third" thing turns out to be a good one, that you discover that you are covered under warranty which would make this a minor hiccup. There must be so much stress not having a home, I really feel for you and hope things work out. When this is said and done, try to plant it in your brain as being the completion to this set so that unconsciously you are not "waiting for the third shoe to drop". Do car probs come in 3's?. Because one thing also that I know is that if you are really expecting something to happen, it will happen. The world is what we make of it.

Best wishes

Hey, If I remember right, this is in fact #3

Remember awhile back ago you let the car radio on all night, and the battery went dead overnight while you fell asleep? You had a dead battery and all it needed was a jump. So if you count that one there's no worry as it is surely the last, the #3
