OK let me try this again, I have spoken to what I assume is an administrator and was told to come here and post my concern. I have already done that but I will try again.
I cannot seem to get pictures to load for my album. When I'm done a message comes up about a security token. I have NO IDEA what that is. I tried loading pictures off the harddrive no luck. I tried loading them off my SD card, same thing no luck. Does anyone know how I get a professional to answer this question or does a frequent user have any idea of how to get pictures to upload? |

I have a lot of pics in my albums and I've never been asked for a security token. I've heard of people having this come up if the photo is too large. Is your pic over the forum size limit?

There is a size limit. I guess it is standard size 3x5. I guess is standard.

Maximum File Size per Picture 9.54 MB
Maximum Picture Dimensions 8,000 by 8,000 Pixels I'm less inclined to believe size is the problem because those are very generous file size limits but file size is the only situation I've ever seen a security token requested.. In your computer photo software app, open the pic you want to upload and check the file size and dimensions. |

This usually is a browser issue or cookie issue, which could be compounded by the use of antivirus software using very conservative settings. The easiest way to troubleshoot the issue and provide you with further help is to see if changing web browsers results in the same error message. Let us know...

DocJohn, Thank you very much. Our anti virus soft ware is set very tight. We have kids who use the computer. I'll let my teen age son look at things and see what he can do w/ it. Thank you again.

Since you are concerned about your computer, I would say most anti-virus software will not block 100% of malware. Some are better than others but at the end of the day, if you really want your computer to be secure, you're going to need a variety of programs. Unfortunately, something like Norton or Avast is only good for simple malware. More complex ones will target those programs and prevent them from running, which normally leaves you like a sitting duck while backdoors are created. To prevent this, get other programs, such as Malwarebytes which won't be knocked out. For one of my laptops that I regularly download stuff on, it's been hacked before (I didn't have as much security on it). I have the entire portion of my computer that contains Windows fully encrypted with a military grade encryption key and have this portion hidden. Additionally, there's several anti-malware programs, more than 1 firewall, constantly have my IP address hidden through a combination of 2 programs (it changes frequently), etc... . I also test every thing I download in Sandbox before it even reaches the rest of my computer and do a basic scan of it, plus generate HJT and/or TDSS logs. If any part of it is unwanted, I trash that download and immediately run CCleaner. Within my encrypted hard-drive, certain directories have additional encryption. |

I have the most expensive Norton. I know that the firewall is very hard to get past. This is our households first computer and we have had it one year. I just learned to cut and paste(it works sometimes) and I can send e-mails half the time. I usually have to get the seniors volunteer at at the library to show me how to do anything.
