- What kind of web browser are you using: Google chrome/firefox/safari/Internet Explorer
- What kind of operating system (Windows 8, Mac, Android phone, etc.) Windows 7
- Have you tried using a different web browser first, and did that solve the problem? Yes I have, and no it didn't
- Have you tried clearing your web browser's cache and restarting your web browser? Yes

I'm unable to access the chat room and see that other members are also having this issue. I'm getting an error message saying "authentication failed." I believe something is off with the permissions for the directory, but not sure. I just wanted to let you guys know and make a formal post about it.
Thanks for this!

I've tried a lot of different things, even connecting through encryption and I couldn't get anything.

No surprise... same problem.

Now, I haven't been able to log in through Internet Explorer for a couple of weeks now. Has that been cleared up yet?

Sorry folks. We move some things around today in retiring an old server and that appears to have affected the old chat in a way that testing hadn't revealed any problems.

We're working on the issue now.

Thanks for the update! I'm not sure but it seems permission related on the directory.

There's a workaround to get into chat atm, but it's not pretty. Refresh your browser window on any page here (hit "reload" and you may have to clear your cache) and then choose "No popup chat."

Then, scroll down until you can see "Enter chat now" (the page is badly formatted atm, for which we apologize). Clicking on that link *should* get you back into the old chat rooms.

Okay, the Lobby room should also work (again, after refreshing whatever page you're on) as a link in the main chat menu.

We'll get the direct links working to the other rooms tomorrow. You can always log into the lobby and move into whatever room you'd like in the meantime.

Sorry for this access issue that arose today.

Authentication fail is a hmac issue.

Simply put, sometimes it'll be cured by refreshing the forum page - so the link's regenreated, failing that it's outside of your control.

The problem has not been resolved. I got the "Authentication denied" message last night on 12/19. I use google chrome by the way. This morning I just keep getting my page refreshed anytime I click on chat or lobby. Good luck fixing this issue. Computers can be a real pain sometimes.

Getting a bit fed up of it myself - first I had all the authentication failed nonsense and now it just refreshes the page whenever I try to long on...wouldn't be so bad if the new chat rooms actually work, but they don't for me.
