I ignored a Security certificate warning pop-up on this site & logged in anyway. Anyone tell me what that's about? & should I be concerned?

We don't use any security certificates here, so not sure where/how you got such a warning on the forums...? A URL would be helpful.

Dr. John and crew,
Do the photos below help with this? I am not sure if this is the same thing as the original poster is getting or others, but this is what I am getting when I try to go to PC on my phone. It says that the Security Certificate isn't from a trusted Authority. Which is concerning. Secure Site Trust Seals For your Website by eTrust Pro Organization unit: GT77341167 Issued by GeoTrust DV SSL CA Organization GEOTRUST INC Validity: Issued on Monday, Feb 17 of 2014 Expires on Thursday April 21 of 2016 Address: http://www.etrust.pro/cgi-bin/trust/...?ID=492;size=M

the security warning on my mobile devices is letting me know when I am entering a non secure /non private website so that I know what ever I do on that website is available to the public. I have the choice to select whether or not I want to continue going into that non secure /non private website or not, and whether I want to read what android found when they searched for the SSL (secure Socket Layer) certificate. psych central isnt a private forum so i get that notice every time I use my mobile device and because I know through the notice this site isnt private I am very careful not to post anything I would not want just anyone to know about me. my own choice is to select continue when I get the notice. |

Some mobile devices aren't programmed with the correct root security certificates to recognize a valid SSL certificate. Unfortunately, that's a problem with the mobile device.
While our site is available via https for the forums, unless you have a specific reason to access the site through that URL, we recommend accessing our site via regular http://forums.psychcentral.com In any case, the warning is safe to ignore. DocJohn
