Not sure there will be anything left we are allowed to discuss, since I've seen a l of threads being closed with moderaters saying no other threads on a simular topic can be posted.....makes it hard to discuss current events, if we're not allowed to discuss those topics on account of a thread about it getting out of hand or people breaking the site rules.

I suppose not wanting to be confrontational but sort of feel like that 'punishes' the whole site rather than say the individual breaking site rules....also not sure why its considered 'off topic' when the topic is still being discussed but in a looking at the bigger picture manner.

Maybe this is a baseless concern and there will still remain plenty of topics open for discussion....just concerned we wont be able to talk about any major current events in news section on account of threads about them being closed and it being requested no one else start a thread concerning the topic.

The problem is that if another person starts a new thread on the same topic, there's nothing to stop the posters who caused problems on the first, closed thread from creating the exact same troubles on the new thread. It's rarely one member that causes a whole thread to be closed -- it's the tone and direction the conversation is taking.

We will look into suspending certain members from that forum if we find it's the same members creating the issues... but to-date, that hasn't been the case.

We will also look into again limiting political and other types of rancorous discussions in that forum, since those topics seem to be the most volatile and the ones that cause everyone the most hurt.

Best,
DocJohn

I agree with that politics does not belong here, as in opinions. It just creates enemies.

I think it only belongs when it affects us, like I sometimes have to explain the ideas behind our take on health care to make people understand what I can and cannot have. Without really judging but just stating facts.

Like I think it should be allowed to speak about your own issue with Obamacare for example but not how you voted in the matter.

I have been quite shocked about some opinions some people have in different matters, I'd rather be oblivious.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
