it's a nice button. i use it a lot.

the only thing that used to bother me with that was the thought of people getting angry or frustrated that they wern't thanked, and it would turn in to a compitition- who's thanked more, etc etc

fortunately it's not happened.. but when i first saw the button i remember thinking it was a possibility

I put a thanks when the post I just read really touches my heart or educates my mind. Sometimes people respond to my post and I put a thanks to acknowledge and accept their response. Also I put a safe (((hugs))) to comfort or support someone important.

Ah but then the question becomes who is important

I didn't know there were any rules about your intent when you use the "thanks" button. I like it, as it's a small way to let others know you appreciate their post.

I like the thank button just not sure why it was changed to praying hands icon thing.
It seems religious

I dont see a thanks button in the image of praying hands. the thanks button that I see is under posts next to the reply and hugs button and is just the word... thanks

that said i have on other websites seen thanks buttons like this and it stands for clapping hands. like if you are at a concert and you like and want to show your thanks and appreciation you clap your hands. So I dont take it as religious icons when I see those hands online.

Hmmm. Do you mean that the badge for thanking people is an image of praying hands? How do you think it should be portrayed? As a thumbs up?

Also, I can't find the image anywhere. Can you point it to me?

The thanks button has not been changed to anything. It's the same button we've been using here for the past 5 years.

I think you are talking about FB; that's the like button and it isn't praying hands. PC just has the word "Thanks" with no icon.

I don't know FB. But on my phone when I thank someone there's an icon of hands & a name. It used to just be the persons name only.
Maybe it's different for me Bec I updated my phone to an iPhone 6. The app is laid out very differently then it was on my iPhone 4. So maybe that's one of the changes I noticed. Yeah it was a pretty old phone

I see mobile phones have their own aps and their own symbols for example on one of my cell phones the button to make a call says talk and has a speaker picture on it, another one of my cell phones have the same button but it says call on it and the picture for it is an old fashoined telephone hand piece. my wifes cell phone has the same button and hers has no words but the picture is a persons head. well mobile phones have their own aps and apts are like websites the cell phone companies and aps companies make changes. my wife and I use the same ap for banking and texting on our cell phones but with in those same aps our icons are a bit different because we have different versions of the same ap.

to find out why your phone ap has changed you would probably need to contact your cell phone provider, it may be that they upgraded their ap to a newer version of the ap you were using.

Sorry, you're talking about accessing the community through the Tapatalk third-party app. We have no control over how that app works or formats things, but yes, apparently they changed how they display thanks through the app.

Sorry for the confusion.
