How do you block someone from messaging you? How do you report a private message? Thank you.

to block someone from sending you a message you place them on your ignore list. they may still send you a message but you will not receive/ see it.

on the other side of the coin though if you put someone on your ignore list that means you do not get to see any of that persons posts on the boards while you are logged in. they can still see your posts, they can still post in threads that others have made, they just cant post in any threads that .....you... start.

the way I use the ignore list is going to that persons profile, clicking on user lists then clicking on add this member to your ignore list. (saves me the hassle of typing in the members name correctly the other way which is going into my own profile settings, edit ignore list and then typing in the name of the person exactly how their name appears that I want to put on ignore.)
Thanks for this!

Can I block posts, emails and messages from specific users?

If there are particular members that bother you and you do not want to see their posts or receive Private Messages and Emails from them, then you can add these members to your 'Ignore List'. There are several ways to do this:

Through your User Control Panel: User CP, Settings & Options, Edit Ignore List. Then, click on their name and choose: User List, Add to Ignore List
You can just add them to the ignore list.

My Profile ----> Edit Ignore List ---> Type the member you want to block (it will show you the matching names while typing) ---> Okay.

I find some things on this forum triggering but I can not imagine anyone here would purposely try to disturb someone. This is the kindess place on the internet. I could imagine private messages being a bit too invasive to start.
Thanks for this!

I find using this ignore function VERY useful. It's actually nothing personal against that person, it's just to me, their comments trigger me or their phrasing or just something sets me off about them. I do not know them personally, I just know that for my own sanity, it's better not to interact with those people because we are just not supportive of each other. So best to avoid them and let them be, and same with me.

Hey starrysky,

I'm an administrator here so my name shows up in red like darkpurplesecrets, FooZe and DocJohn. We have 2 supermods who show up in purple and they are turtleboy and TheWell. The other wonderful team members are moderators and their usernames show up in green.

You are welcome to pm any of us at any time for questions you need answers too or how to do something like using the ignore feature or chat features as well. We're all here to help!
