I have a puter problem...yeah I know you all are thinking get off my behind and think it out...work it out...research and identify...classify...then...satisfy...seems even I can be stumped...lolololol...I have a very old laptop that has only a floppy drive...it has no OS (operating system) my question would be how do I install an OS on this machine?

You used to be able to buy an OS disk with the programs...you might have one there with your disks, or you might be able to find one on E-bay or something like that...then you would just run it off the disk and do an install from the disk onto your computer...

I tried all these excellent suggestions and finally I just put win3.1 on it...what I was hoping to do was upgrade off the net from there but then more probs happened and well...I just thru up my hands and went screaming into the night...lol...and when I looked over my should I'll be damned if the laptop wasn't right behind me screaming something about leaving 3.1 on it...the last I saw of this laptop it was sailing thru the air with no wings...lol...

poor baby.....I've had a few puters take flight but they weren't even laptops. It's amazing the speed and distance

lol I had to be sure and work through those throwing issues BEFORE I bought my first notebook
 PS I have an old computer (desk top, side bottom etc..boat anchor type) I want to clear the harddrive but I don't have the disk for the only internet service that will run on it... so there it sits not being used by anyone as I won't even give it away with data on it. I think it's still stuck in Win 95? if it made it that far.
