I've subscribed to a few discussions in the newly formatted Social Groups. I don't want notifications on them (just like threads) per se. I just view them (like I do subscribed threads) and anything with new activity since my last post or last view is in boldface.
After I view them, they still appear in boldface. ![]() Can this be fixed? ![]() ![]() Here's the link to one of my groups, which shows as a discussion now. https://forums.psychcentral.com/grou...n-over-40.html Not an earth shattering emergency, but it is annoying. ![]()

Can somebody please respond????
![]() Even if the answer is "Beats me", "Sorry, we can't do that", "We're looking into it." ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I could always visit groups even less frequently if this can't be fixed.

Have you tried the tips provided in the "Read this before posting here?" thread? If so, could you please provide the outcome of trying those things, as well as the information requested from that thread?

Yes, I read this. And I've tried it all. Nothing works. FYI, I use the computers at the library. I don't have my own computer, smartphone, or tablet. I don't have control over browser versions or clearing a cache or cookies. They disable those features. Users can't access those menus at all. All I can do is try both IE and Firefox. Also rebooting. It doesn't work. I don't know what operating system it is, and even the librarian doesn't know. I just know it's Windows but not the latest version. When logging on, you can't tell what version Firefox is or whatever, because of the way they set up the desktop. FYI, for some reason, the emojis won't work either. It's the same for either browser. For now, I'll do a generic one then. :-(

Unfortunately, without knowing more information, all I can do is make a guess and say it's probably the versions of the browser you're using. They are likely older versions or interacting with the library's content filtering system/firewall that is breaking this functionality of our community for you.

After doing some playing around on what menus I CAN see, I believe the "version" of Firefox is "57.0.4 (32-bit).
![]() IE seems to be "11".... My theory is that both of these are not the latest version, hence affecting functionality on some web site. I'm sure they don't use the latest stuff. FYI, I don't know if this is related to all of the above, but after uploading avatars for my groups, they appear as "new" even though they are all years old now. And REAL "new" groups don't appear anymore in that section. I used to be able to see newly created groups in its own section. Descriptions are gone too, just big question marks instead. Guess I'll just have to live with it. ![]()

Okay..........Now that I've posted what info I DO know, I'm assuming these are older versions of browsers?
![]() Maybe this will get edited but I'll try anyway: I don't get why most other members get responses to their threads in this forum, but I usually don't unless I post a second time. This really upsets me. ![]() ![]() If nothing can be done about my problems with group subscriptions, I'd appreciate confirmation.
