why is their 2 links to exactly the same forum?

at the top, in general social chat, it is listed as a subforum

then, below that, under games, it's also listed as a subforum (the exact same one), I thought it might have been diffrent, but no.. they are certainly the same

further more, why is games not listed in the same place as the general chat forums (aqa the distraction forums)

observations for friday...

taking a guess....

games and coffee house used to be one forum with general but general mental problem and questions about mental problems got lost in the board.

result separate forums one for games and gaming like questions and one for general mental problems questions/ problems/ postings.

then because the games board was getting laid down with questions threads like have you evers, which is better's ... poll like questions and the actual games discussions were getting lost, those two were broken up into the games and coffeehouse.

the links were so that those in coffee house could easily jump to the games and those in games could easily find the coffeehouse when it was first broken up, you know like when they move a thread somewhere else they leave a marking link so people can find that thread.

games in distractions because people use games to distract their self from problems, the coffeehouse is at the top because...... sometimes...... the poll like questions do have to do with a problem but the poll like question doesnt fit in with another board. its more suited for talking about pets and general life not quite a mental disorder.

Folks, the answer to any question that asks why something is inconsistent or weird or oddly worded is likely the same...

We're a very old site. Our community is old. Stuff was created and added to over the years, and often while we tried to remain consistent, we're human and so that didn't always happen.

I know you're all looking for some grand rationale that puts these things into some sort of logical perspective, but sadly I have none to offer. It's just the way things were devised at the time, and sometimes there's not a lot of rhyme or reason to it...

It's like pondering the meaning of life or the expanse of the universe, lol.
