I'm very interested in a certain path of spirituality, and would like to learn more about it. I would ask here, but I don't think it's allowed to openly discuss specifics of a spiritual path. Where can I learn more about a specific faith or spirituality online or otherwise without getting bad or misleading information? I don't want to mess around with things I don't yet understand and get into something I can't get out of.

Writings on certain subjects posted on varying websites and blogs can't always be relied upon, as it is often inaccurate and/or thin. When researching any subject in earnest, I refer to the City Library, as published works/literature more often than not have facts and details verified before they are published...not all but most. I am sure that there would be a wealth of literature on spiritual matters available from your City library...I believe that most Large Libraries now have an on line catalogue that you can peruse. If nothing else the Library is a nice place to visit and meet with like minded people.

Artchic, This is a very wise approach. I wish I had a good answer for you.
I am thinking on it. ![]() WC

I know of Wicca but don’t know anything about it. Have you tried browsing Amazon or Good Read for books and reading the reviews. Keep in mind that there a people who do reviews for a living and post a 5 Star rave review without even reading the book. So do a little reading further down the list. Also read any bad reviews and their reasons for the bad review. There’s a lot of misinformation out there so be selective and cautious in your journey.

I have recalled the name of a book you might consider starting with. It's called Drawing Down the Moon. It's essentially a history of paganism, wicca, and other goddess paths.
Also, here's a photo you might find interesting. It was taken at a Wiccan handfasting (wedding) I attended a few years ago; the photo is at the time of the actual hadnfasting. The ceremony was absolutely lovely, located in the large backyard of a witch. The yard was filled with all sorts of symbolic gardens, shrines, and statuary. You'll have to click on the link because I can't figure out how to post a pic here. https://imgur.com/a/zlTioSR Last edited by *Laurie*; Apr 19, 2018 at 04:37 PM. |

This is another pic, taken during a Wiccan ritual in a woman's home. I think it's a beautiful photograph.

Artchic, what about posting in the spirituality forum asking that anyone with information about Wicca PM you the info?
I'm not positive, but I seem to remember there is a social group for Wiccans also. Try searching the groups. |

Artchic and I Pm'd each other, but she hasn't been around lately. A social group is a good idea.
