Hi,
I'm new to OpenJournal and quite excited to get it working. I'm installed on a Win2K server and have gotten to the point where I can enter a 'new entry' but clicking 'add' returns error: Error opening the file....index.htm() - Please check your permissions. I'm confused about it being a permissions problem. When troubleshooting I restructed my pages so that where it attempts to create the index.htm (in the /oj directory) was in a location I know the permissions permit the writing and creating files yet I receive the same error. Does anyone have any ideas what I might have configured incorrectly or what might be causing this error and how to fix it? Thanks Jacqueline |

The error messages were really written for unix in mind, not Windows, so they may not be completely accurate...
It may be that instead of file permissions, you need to look at directory permissions more closely and ensure that the Web server, IIS user, can also write to that directory. You may have to specifically tell IIS it's okay to write to that directory in the IIS admin control panel.
