about half of all the times we go to the login page, we get this stupid ad for BPD, we don't HAVE BPD.

we have a pop-up blocker, but this thing is getting through.

we can't see much point in them advertising meds for BPD on line, in fact it seems downright dangerous ad on login page

Not blaming PC for this, but it seems so dangerous ad on login page
You can just click on a "skip ad" thing at the top, but it worries us. Not for us, personally, you understand.

We wonder if these ads are being run without DocJ's knowledge, a kinda parasitic attack on the site ad on login page

We know we're sounding paranoid, ok ? don't tell us that.

DocJohn spoke of this Ad in the General section of PC and Yes it from PC to help pay for some of their expenses. I just close it out and then it takes me directly to PC.

When drug companies (or government agencies) promote 'disorder awareness' campaigns rates of certain disorders certainly do go up.

Advertising for a particular medication and / or disorder results in an increased number of people being prescribed that medication and / or diagnosed with the disorder.

I mean if it didn't... They wouldn't advertise. I'm sure they have done their market research...

I feel very sad that there is advertising on this site. I'm sad about advertising in general (because it tries to manipulate the consumer to act in certain ways on the basis of emotions rather than reason). I'm very sad indeed that there is advertising of certain disorders and / or medications. How come? Because it seems... Particularly exploitative to me.

Taking advantage of hurting people looking for some (any!) answer... The medicalization of distress... Etc etc...

Surely there could be other ways to raise the necessary funds???

DocJohn said that particular ad would be gone January 1; you shouldn't still be seeing it?

Clear your Web browser's cache if you're still seeing that ad. That means your Web browser is loading an older version of that login page...

Detailed instructions on how to clear your browser's cache is at the top of this thread:
