I've noticed that the "joined" date and the number of years a member (both beneath avatars) often don't match. For example, I joined the forum in 2019 (July), but my number of years says 2, when it should be 3.

Its a years award, not a years counter. The awards are given at major anniversary milestones as defined in the rules.

Eta - well, i cant find it in the rules! But its about every 5 years.

Yeah Luna is right it’s given at 2 years I think and then at 5 year milestones. Like unalunas profile says 10 years award but it’s been actually eleven. I have 10 and 15 years award pins at workplace but it’s actually been 17. I just looked at my profile and I joined in 2014 but it says 5 year member even though it’s actually 7 and a half. Just not a milestone

What years are the milestones for?

I can see 2 years and 10 years and I think I seen a 20 year one somewhere

Yes, when we redid the graphics 5 or 6 years ago, we forgot to put the "+" sign in the award, to signify it's at least whatever number the award has. We probably will redo them at some point. But I think the awards are: 1, 2, 5, 8, 10, 15, and 20.

Hi, @*Beth*! I just visited your visitors place, & I saw it says you're a member since July 13, 2019. Maybe the 2 will change to a 3 on the 13th?

It won’t as the next one will be award for 5 years. It’s an award, not actual counting years
