Has the Forum started allowing ads on the lower portion of the screen? I'm also getting a not secure warning. It's a Chromebook.

The ads are very irritating you can push x but every time you post or refresh they pop back up

Yes, we've added the advertising code to all the themes. Previously it was just on the most popular themes, but we need to maintain all these themes, so it only is fair and makes sense to have them all support advertising -- which in turn, supports our ability to pay our server bills and for the maintenance of the forum software.

Thank you for this. I thought it was just me and was reluctant to post it here. It just happens on this site, not others so I figured it must be something they are doing to support the site. I ignore them because like you said, if you close it more just pop up.

I just edited the "re:" field which I don't usually do, but some posts have the title of another thread from another member, LostontheTrail about dark mode disappearing. It was confusing me and pedantic that I am, I had to fix it.

I got one that had a bottle of wine spilling over and it was advertising some wine company.

How are these ads supposed to help people trying to recover?

If you'd like to report an ad, you're welcomed to send me a screenshot or URL of the domain the ad goes to in PM and we'll get it taken care of.

I keep getting a scammy looking psychic one, says to select a card and wont close when i click the x

Just mentioning it cause it feels scammy, the way it behaves

I dont know who the advert is from though, all i know is its a tarot one and it gets in the way and wont close

Its worse on my phone cause it takes up most of the screen, the other adverse stay out of the way but this card one keeps getting in the way when it comes up, making it impossible to do much until i refresh the page on phone

Just now i dont see it cause i refreshed the page but it keeps coming back and screen size of phone makes posting hard, foe me anyway

Current advert is fine, its a depression help one and its nor stopping me posting

If it comes up on the laptop later, how do i send it without 1) making other members get scammed, 2) getting into a troubles for sharing the link if i can get it cause my phone doesnt show beyond the dot, and without frightening myself by messaging a admin then having a panic button over getting a message from admin?
