It's entirely possible that I'm just missing it, as I get acclimated to the new software and design -- but what happened to the "email all replies to my real email address" option? I'm able to check email more frequently than I'm able to come on the site and see if anyone has replied to me, and I miss that.

The option is now in your Profile section, under "Subscribe / Unsubscribe..." edit options. If you choose yes, you want to receive email to your favorite threads, then you will receive emails to any threads you mark as your favorites.

You have two ways to make a thread in your favorites. One is when you reply, this is an option to "Add this thread to my favorites." The second way is there's a little icon with a string tied around a finger at the bottom of every post. Clicking on that little icon will add that thread to your favorites as well.

This works a little differently than before.

Thanks for the explanation. Actually, before you could make FORUMS favorite, not THREADS. I am interested in being able to do that again.

Just talkin' to myself, testing out my purple signatures, though I don't think it's going to work because it still tells me after I click 'submit' that my signature is too long and then on the list of UBB codes it only gives options for green and red? I'll have to look around for the change to HTML button, or are both enabled automatically now? Here goes.............................

Ignore me again, sorry but this is the only way to test it. I changed to green, I counted my characters because it says that the signature can be up to 355 char. Mine was around 217 not including the spaces between words. They're not counted as "characters", right?

So a shorter green signature it is then! Since I'm now using the "Wild" skin I guess green looks better anyway.

You can still make forums favorites.... at the bottom of a forum index when you're viewing a list of topics in that forum, you will see an Extras section. The favorites option is in there.

You can use any color you wish -- those are just examples in the FAQ you read.

Also, if you choose to preview your post before posting it, it will show your signature in the preview. That way you don't have to keep posting test posts when you make changes to it.

Spaces do count... its like having one of those forms to fill out where they ask your name and address and give you one box for each letter... if you put a space in your address it still uses one box.

I really like the new look! Much friendlier. The only problem I had was that my old bookmark didn't work anymore, but I found the Forum anyway.

Hi. Happy Birthday and thanks for the upgrade.
The PM inbox is working fine, but I can't find a link for the outbox.

Thanks again.

saudade,

PM's don't really have an outbox... once you send them they go right to the recipient's inbox.

However if you choose to "save a copy" of sent messages, you can see them by clicking "my profile" and "sent private messages".

Hope this helps!

I had the flashing envelope indicating a new PM in my inbox when I came here this morning... Read and posted in a few forums and then I noticed the flashing envelope was gone.

Checked my inbox and the new message is there. It just "gave up" trying to alert me Bugs, issues or problems with the new forum software . It used to flash continuously until I went and opened the PM.

OK. It's probably just me, but.... when I do a reply either to a post or PM, have the page says "This page is not available", and when I click the 'continue' button, the whole screen says the same thing, so I end up clicking the 'back' button and try it again. Any suggestions?

I don't have that problem, but when I get a new PM or read receipt, the notification sent to my email address is going to junk mail now since the server change--it didn't before. I have the address and domain "grohol.com" on the safe list, but it still happens.

inky, do you have a little "This is not junk mail" button in your junk mail folder? That might be a way to make sure the exact address is put on your safe list.

The name of the server changed in the move, from my personal domain "grohol.com" to "psychcentral.com." Put that on your safe list and you should be all set....

Hi.

Um, I can't view my sent messages ever since the software was upgraded. Used to be able to see them, though, which avoided trouble like PMing someone twice about the same subject because I can't see if it was sent until they reply.

Thanx. Bugs, issues or problems with the new forum software
