Well, here we are again...

POD is exibitng rather strange behaviour when parsing the DMOZ site. The links to the other search engines are broken and you cannot limit your search to a single category, well you can in the interface, and it seems to build the correct query however the results return correspond to a full directory search. Also theer are some oher minor glitches.

I'm wondering if it is my set-up
RH 6.2
Perl 5.6001 (or however you spell that)
Mod_Perl 1.26 (latest tarbal from 5-6 days ago)
Apache (latest tarbal from 5-6 days ago)
Slash 2.0 (latest tarbal from 5-6 days ago)

and along wth mod_perl I got all the latest versions of the rquired modules...

OK I figured out whats wrong, well not exactly what causes it...

when I set: $pod_usequery=0;

I can have searches restricted to the categories, but it breaks categories like: World::Espan~ol returning an error like this:

POD encountered the following error while trying to run:
404 Not Found
Attempted retrieval URL: http://dmoz.org/World/Español/

This also happens on the demo site!!!

When I set that VAR to "1"

links like the World::Espan~ol work but then the search is no longer restricted to that category and it searches the whole directory....

Any idea on how to fix this? or even where to start looking? It seems to me that some foreign characters get truncatet somewhere....

Thanx

PS: got the latest bug fix release

PS:

Over half of the links of sites that supossedly use POD DO NOT use POD or don't exist anymore.

If you could give me a copy of the 1.73d version, so I could look at the difference I might be able to fix it!

Thanks for this!
