Just read an article from Kati Morton where EMDR mimics REM sleep. Hmmmm something to think about. I've had EMDR before and I was so freakin sleepy afterwards I felt like a Zombie.
Here's the address for the article What is EMDR Therapy? - Your Mental Health Community
The reason this really got my attention is that my first sleep study showed I didn't go into REM sleep at all. So would EMDR work for me? I must go into REM sleep at some point to get some restful sleep.
Has anyone else had a sleep study and something about your REM sleep been brought up?

May I ask why you had a sleep study done?

Couldn't get restful sleep, no REM sleep pretty much answered that question

That was a quick response back. Are you having trouble with restful sleep? My second one I did a little better but stopped breathing more so they put me on a cpap. It helps a little but was a pain in the butt to get used to.

I'm on the ptsd chat if you want to join. I can't sleep without seroquel, so yes, I'm having trouble with restful sleep.

Talk with your GP they should be able to set you up.

Too bad we don't have any EMDR practitioners in here to discuss it with.

Anyone watch that video? Answered some questions for me.

Awesome, as long as they were dreams and not nightmares.

They were nightmares. My sleep cycle just resynced and I actually haven't gotten good sleep in s very long time. I will try the seroquel again tonight . Last night I got some bad news about my daughter so that disrupted my night. Maybe tonight will not go like that.

Sorry about the bad news about your daughter, I'm sure that did disrupt your sleep. I may have to try valerian again, it just smells so bad I haven't had a good night sleep in so long it's hard to remember what that feels like.
Thanks for this!

I'm right there with you! If things go well tonight I may take seroquel.

I requested a copy of my first sleep study , I had one but lost it. Just wanted to read over it again and confirm that I didn't go into REM sleep at all. Nope, I didn't.

Yes, would be good. She obviously would have a better understanding of all this than we do. Thanks.

Thank you. I can't get a solid night's sleep without seroquel and caffeine to wake me up the next morning.
