All any of us can do is to take things one day at a time ((Fedor)). There are times in our lives that we can't see the future. It may be good for you if you go to an alanon meeting where you can get support for this challenge.
Thanks for this!

Agree with Open Eyes. You need to meet new people and get some support.

Yes I use to go to alanon and it did help, I will go back to the meetings! I also just started a new group ( cognitive therapy)
What I am waiting for is one on one with a counsellor , I haven't had any trauma counselling , I hope it's the right time for that It's a three month waiting list! I should mention I have dependant personality disorder. Thank you for you response, much appreciated!

Hello Fedor so sorry to hear you are struggling. I lost my Dad three years ago and I would have never thought I would have lasted this long but I have. It hasn't been easy and there's always an empty space in your life and heart but you have to find help to get you through it. When my mom goes I know it will be even harder and I do really feel your pain and anticipation of that very dark time. You are wise to express your sadness now and let people know how much you will need them by your side during this time. Get strong support in place before you have to face that. We will be here for you, I know it's not much and we can't really hug you and comfort you but we will be here and send you thoughts and prayers of support. Take care.

Hi Trace14, thank you so much for taking the time to respond to me! You really make a lot of sense to me. I'm sorry you lost your father. Your right, I do think it is a good idea to put supports in place now rather than later. You really touched my heart, thank you for your support means more than you know.

We all here wish you well. Thank you for your sympathy for my father. It's not going to be easy but you have the tools and the know how to help you get through this. You will never stop missing them, but the hurt will lessen in time and you will learn to live for them. Be well.
