Hello Everyone,
I'm new here. I suffer from PTSD I think the complex version. I'm signed up on here because I need support. A little about myself? Well I come from a bad background of abuse, degradation, neglect, endless molestation. That really screwed me up. I had no healthy sense of self for several years. I really don't know what a healthy relationship looks like, or feels like since all the adults I grew up with were abusive, misogynous, negligent (that includes the kids I grew up with as well).
I found a new therapist that I hope will work out. Social life is non existent, I'm basically trying to figure out what kinds of extracurricular activities to do which isn't easy because of all the ageism prevalent these days.
A whole lot of speed bumps in my life's journey that's for sure.

Welcome to PC and we are glad you are here. Yes, normal everyday life is hard for us. Good news that you have found a T to work with. I hope that works out as well. What kind of things did you like to do?

Welcome to PC!

I've had abuse off and on my whole life. I'm now at a space where I can deal with it. I also have have problems with being older and not being accepted because of that.

Hi,
Thank you for replying. I like lots of things. I like painting, building toy model cars but lately money has been tight. I read a lot I like non fiction mostly. I like to listen to music I go to YouTube because of the variety. I like the afro Cuban music b/c I can pretend I'm on a vacation on an island that I can't afford. I like to watch DVDs my favorite is "The Wire" It got cancelled back in '08' but I like to watch it. It's pretty gritty street crime drama I wouldn't recommend it to everyone but some of the storylines I can relate to.
Theres so many goals I want to accomplish.
Thanks to the meds I'm on & the T I feel that there is hope.

Sounds like you have a good variety of hobbies to find things to do with your time. You have goals, awesome. Plus you are taking your meds and seeing a T. Sounds like a good plan. You have any pets?
