One of the main reasons I don't sleep well is I am constantly on alert, and one aspect of this is I have a heightened sense of touch to the point where I feel like things are crawling on me (and I have checked for real bugs many times, and put down traps etc - this isn't real). I have been so obsessed with this that I was starting to do stupid things to protect myself like covering myself with poisonous insecticides every night.
A couple of days ago I hit on the idea of creating an enclosed environment and safe space for sleeping where I could be absolutely reassured nothing can crawl on me and that I can make into a sort of 'nest'. I searched the net and came across this: ![]() https://www.sansbug.com/product/1-pe...sh-poly-floor/ It arrived yesterday and is so easy to put up (it's like a popup tent) so it's now setup on top of my bed. I was worried it wouldn't give me enough space as I like lots of space but it's surprisingly roomy and I have also got the largest comfiest sleeping pod I could find as I don't like feeling too restricted Silentnight Sleeping Pod? Sleeping Bag | GO Outdoors I put some lavender oil on my pillow and I have setup bluetooth speakers on either side to create a stereo ambience playing nature sounds that help me sleep (bird song, water, chimes). Also I have an electric underblanket to warm it before I get in. I was actually really looking forwards to sleeping in it and am again tonight, normally I dread going to bed. Anyone else tried something like this? It's like a little tent on top of the bed. Slept in it last night for the first time, still tossed and turned somewhat but I didn't feel claustrophobic and did feel more protected, will see if I can settle into it and am planning to also get some stick on LEDs nightlights (any other suggestions to make it feel like a nest let me know). |

This looks like a really comfy and safe place to sleep in!
I hope you'll get refreshing rest in it 😊 |

Thanks for sharing . I am inspired by this. I get scared in the night, although sleeping with my dogs helps. I would love to try something like this. Have you tried a weighted blanket?

No I don't like feeling confined - I would get panicky - this gives me enough space still

This was great last night, slept better
I still do get the skin crawling sensation but I can reassure myself it's not real with more confidence knowing it would be very unlikely. |

This is working really well, getting a better night's sleep than I have for ages as long as I also take my melatonin and block out neighbour noise

OP: Still, a very good idea for sleeping. It's great that you feel comfortable and safe in it. |

You can get bigger ones - in fact even this is big enough for 2 but it would be cosy
