Just curious. What are your coping skills you most often use?
Here are my favorite ones >Prayer: eases my mind to give my worries over to God. >Journaling: release of emotion on any given situation. Also helps me to organize my thoughts. >Word search puzzles: Something simple that takes up time and takes my mind off things I would say I'm pretty good at coping however; I do go through phases where I don't use any of my skills or use negative ones but I'm working on that. I also like doing yoga and /or meditating. If all these things fail then I will take my anxiety med and only then, (it's just hydroxyzine anyway, not addictive or anything) I just feel better when I know I coped with something without having to take them. Hello Blue_Bird: The Skeezyks is just toughing it out one day after the next. He does some walking meditation, walking his dog, & also just walking for the sake of walking... He's also a home bread baker, which he finds therapeutic.

Good you have some that work for you. I'm terrible at coping when depression and anxiety hit me. I basically do nothing. Spend my time online doing nothing. Currently I'm in a deep state of depression which hasn't gone for a week now. I try to walk to distract my thoughts, but it doesn't work for me. Everything I do is boring and doesn't interest me. Listening to music could be soothing, but its effect is gone quickly.
