I guess we all take comfort in knowing that others here know how we feel. Seems the common thread here is that what happened to Missy wasn't your fault, had you known what was to come, I'm certain you would have made other arrangements.... She'll be there for you wagging her tail as usual when you arrive someday
In the meantime, please look into whatever services might be available to you, maybe find a social worker that can help in your area? Usually AARP has some advise? Medicare? If you could get your hearing aids to work, you'd feel a lot more involved with people...it's hard to not feel alone if you can't hear anyone....that's very isolating. I wish the best for you. Keep us posted, please?

This has me in tears as well...

God Bless you.

Reading something like this makes me wonder why I get so upset with MY problems, they aren't anything compared to this. I will pray for you and keep you in my thoughts.

I am not sure if I have anything meaningful to add but I just wish you could have another pet. That is what you truly need. A seeing eye dog would be great as well. Are you sure you don't have any way to get some financial help and maybe find a way to get to a Doctor or somewhere where they will help you pay for a seeing eye dog or something of that nature?

I know I don't have much that can help but I am so so sorry and I hope that you make it through this.. Also, don't blame yourself for what happened to Missy you were doing what was best for her and that shows you have a huge heart. I am so sorry for your loss and will keep you and her both in my prayers..
