i know that with taking his life, were saving many...but i agree, celebrating his death is the same as him celebrating the success of Al Quada's attacks on 9/11...i feel like there is too much media on it, being reminded of death is a bit stressful for me also
Thanks for this!

I know I seem to be dominating the thread and I apologize, but I missed a post earlier and I would like to comment. Lynn – this rash of hating Muslims or even people that appear Middle Eastern really makes me sick and angry (my SIL is originally from Mexico and gets a random security check EVERY flight she takes). I just want to scream “How can you be SO STUPID!”

You cannot paint ANY race, religion, or culture with the same brush. When will the human race learn this lesson? You cannot even assume the same family shares the same beliefs! In my own household we have conservative and liberal, patriot and pacifist, devoutly spiritual (two of my children have even chosen a different religion) and agnostic.

Anyone that knows me will tell you I am one of THEE most opinionated people you will ever meet. I have very definite political, personal and spiritual beliefs. But for the life of me I cannot comprehend how you develop such hate and discontent for someone that does not look like you or believe what you believe. Being inquisitive by nature I truly would like to sit down and attempt to have a rational conversation with one of these fanatics and ask the simple question “why, why do you care that I do not share your beliefs? You are free to live the way you wish, why desire to take that away from me?” I don’t want rhetoric I would like an honest explanation because it just makes no sense to me.

I personally believe the subject of this thread is evil. I can think of no other word to describe him. I formed that opinion based upon deeds he himself claimed responsibility for. I personally believe he used his religion and an excuse to commit unspeakable crimes against humanity; a crutch of a very weak man. HOWEVER!!!!! He is no more the representative of his race or religion than Adolf Hitler was of my ancestors! SIXTY FIVE years later and we haven’t learned a damn thing!

Last year my daughter found a toad near our pond - she kept it for 2 days but it died. She was sad and I didn't want to throw her loved toad in the garbage or over the fence. We put it in a shoe box and buried it in the rose garden and put a stone for a marker - there's respect and compassion for a living thing that was loved by someone, somewhere - this is what I think of before I feel joy in regards to death. I mean they are two opposite emotions - how do we feel them both at the same time? That's my opinion and reflection.
Your words are so true!

I would say you did a great job with teaching your children, you allowed them to grow up, be their own people, and be who they wanted to be. I would also like to believe that in this world there are some who have learned something. I really do want to believe that, somedays it's harder than others. I also wanted to apologize if my post about text books felt negitive or an insult to you. I only wanted to point out that they are formed by comities that change over time, becoause I now live in Texas I see textbooks going backwards into the darkages. Every state and county has their own choices, it sounds like where you live is much more progressive.

I like opionated people, as long as they allow me my opions too. I jumped to conclusions from one post of your that I read, sorry. Later I went back and read all posts from the begining.

This is why every time I see something political or some kind of people bashing I get upset. It always seems that we have to bunch people together. I really feel that when we do that it is a big bold sign of ignorance.

For every black person that may be mean there is a white one that is, and for every Indian that is bad, well there is nice one. We have to stop daming people who have a skin color based on adaptation, comeon, really.

I had a bunch of upper class yuppies in a small neighborhood that we had built a house in. They all drank, smoked pot, partied and picked on others who didn't have a big house or who's car was not nice enough or such stupid stuff. I can only think that if another country was to judge me by their behavior, wow, I would be sunk. Ofcourse, I didn't believe in going out and getting high all night and drinking, so I was lonely there. We eventually moved. But what if?

I have not noticed anyone following anyone around ? As for being respectful of the dead I think ABL lost all respect the day he decided he wanted to be a terrorist and murder thousands of people.

I did cheer and will cheer any more deaths of terrorist as they fight a cowards 'war' (the word war is used loosely) they kill while hiding.

That is my choice and I wont feel as though I am wrong for my opinions, as far as I feel I am right to think how I want to think.

Thank you for all your responses. Due to the inability to limit talk of politics and that the original topic seems to be exhausted, this thread will now be closed.

Take gentle care,

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
