Ok, so I've been very contemplative lately, here is my most recent train of thought... I am at a stale-mate with my career. I have a job but it is not in my chosen profession (the one I have studied and received two degrees for) but I know there is not much demand in this area for what I want to do. I'm still in school for my bachelor's degree and I feel no closer to graduating than the day I started. I have no family of my own and I am not even currently in a relationship. So the question I keep asking myself is.... When is my life going to start? And what do I do while I wait? Oh well, this phase cannot last forever; so I'm going to keep my chin up and take one day at a time and enjoy life as it comes. Enough venting, time to stop over-thinking things and go to sleep, tomorrow is a new day.

Sometimes you have to do something rather than wait. I have waited too long, kept myself safe and comfy, but forgot how to go where my heart wanted me to go.
As to your education and your work, something happened to education while I wasn't watching. If you are one of those people who studied mathematics because it is fascinating, or philosophy, or history, or something equally impractical, congratulations, you are one of the few who got education, not a mere job-prep. You may think you gimped yourself, but there is many MBAs serving breakfast at Denny's, so don't be too hard on yourself. Hope you did not get youself too deep in debt. An interesting person once said that ART is the only activity that is a fit busy-ness of a human being. I thought: how ridiculous! Who then will grow our food, build our houses, make our clothes, drive our deliveries? Maybe in some future world we can all sit on our duffs painting or sculpting, or playing weird music while machines do all the work we used to do, but not today. Well... I don't think that's what he meant. I think he meant we must not do slave labor. It doesn't mean do not labor, but make whatever you do your art, make it like a human might do, not that future automaton, don't be an automaton. Not sure it helps, dear. I am sleepy too. Don't wait forever. |

first off i think your efforts to be educated in a field via college is wonderful! you're right time will yield more favorable employment. don't know how much farther u have to go to get your degree but keep the vision of your future in the forefront. in life we need to learn to be pragmatic. practice patience and work towards your goal. write down how far you've come. when u're discouraged, read it! it will boost your spirit.
