Some may know that i've been withdrawling cold turkey off of quite a few meds, then also had a adhd stimulant uped, all at the same time, 10 days ago... (I already had severe depresstion, sleeping problems before this. But was and is due to situational..)
I dont know what to do.... I'll quote what little blog i just posted in my blog just to give a short background into my past few days...(and while looking through how long it takes to withdrawl off of Klonopin and Xanax, and ended up coming across something about a benzo's withdrawl symptoms, and then looked into mania from there due to what the lists of symptoms that may show due to the benzo withdral syndrome , and then i realized something... My suddenly happy mood yesterday no matter what that i questioned but didn't want to question because my reasoning was "Why question it?! its a good thing! we arent' despressed right now! lets not question it!!" because i was badly depressed prior to the abrupt stopping, but then after it, things have gotten much worse.. uh, anyways... heres the quote to my most recent blog... I wish that I knew what to say! ![]() Have you tried calling your doctor already to tell him/her about the effects that you're going through? True, doc's usually won't override others' decisions, but they can call each other to discuss treatment ideas too. Perhaps you could ask that he or she does that with the P nurse asap to relieve you of withdrawal symptoms?

hi, lexi. i am surprised that your MD allowed you to go cold turkey off multiple meds simultaneously. i have always had better results when i was gradually weaned off of meds.
firstly, don't do anything drastic while undergoing withdrawal; stay calm and do things slowly. if you drive, you might consider asking for rides, walking or taking public transportation. secondly, avoid all alcohol and be careful with stimulants like caffeine or nicotine or sugar. when your mood stabilizes, return to your normal activities. also, you might consider changing psych nurses because i believe her drastic changes of your meds is a questionable way of doing things especially when the meds in question are Xanax and Klonopin. granted, i do not know how high your doses of these meds were - the higher the dose the greater the possible complication of going cold turkey. so, be aware of your moods and do not hesitate to contact an MD if you feel things are going out of control. please keep posting and let us know how you're doing. |
