So.. I've noticed a pattern. This post is not for me to rant about my feelings or anything about myself. This post is for YOU. Yes you. The one reading this. If you want to know anything about me simply just read my recent posts or my "about me" section and you'll see all the things that are wrong with me

Anywho. So most of these posts are so depressing. Don't get me wrong it's a great place to rant/vent/get emotions out if you are depressed or whatever reason you are here. Trust me I can relate. However I've noticed an effect in me by reading nonstop such sad posts.

So. I remember a saying from one of my favorite artists-

"Surround yourself with people who inspire you"-Toby Mac

I believe this to be true not only with people but with everything in your life. Surround yourself with things and people that inspire you! If something brings you down then get rid of it. I know in some circumstances this may be hard/seem impossible. And in some circumstances whatever you may be going through sometimes you can't get rid of certain things.. but just... think lightly... and don't think too much. Sometimes thinking too much is the problem all in itself.

I would like to spread some joy through my pain.
Hugs from:

Thanks for this!

I think you have a very valued point and it is what my mother still says to me up to this day.

Balance ... Everything in life needs to have a balance. I believe Chinese call it Yin and Yang. These posts, this forum is amazing. The people in here support absolutely everyone, and a lot of posts are heavy. The beauty of this forum is so, that there are so many people that one can apply Yin/Yang.

For myself, I try, after spending time on here, to listen to some music, watch an uplifting film do something what can break my thoughts free from issues presented on here. This doesn't mean I don't care, it means I'm attempting to keep the balance so I can return next time with new energy.

Take a plane crash. The safety proceedings say, before you attempt to help your child or any other with your oxygen mask, put your own mask on. If you don't look after your own survival, you can't look after others.

It's the same on here...

Maybe, if there isn't one yet (and I have seen a lot of positive forums on here all ready) there should be a forum called... My happy thought for today is ....
Mine was hearing my son laugh today (he is 18, so to hear him laugh is not something I get to enjoy every day ).

I love this it's a very wise philosophy. As much as possible I try not to perpetuate my own (at times very pervasive) misery and I encourage my friends to adopt the same mindset expressed in that quote. We exercise a lot more control over our happiness than we realise. It's often about capitalising on life's opportunities and investing in activities/occupations that will fuel our contentment. Of course, when you're mired in an all-consuming depression it's exceedingly - even impossibly - hard to think of any activity that could make you happy.

I started a thread weeks back called "what works for me" about happy thoughts, keys to overcome triggers, or anything that promotes Mental Health (physcial health).
The trouble is dear ladybird, is that people are well represented by the
Neilsen ratings, the news stations that report on the tornado get
great ratings, the ones reporting on the miracle that so many were
spared by the tornado have plunging ratings.
People don't love misery, but they respond to it.
Maybe that is what is wrong with my romance life, the women only want
to focus on my warts.
metaphoric warts.

Sandee.
