The past is a long time ago

Because I recently joined facebook people I went to high school with have been back in contact with me. My first boyfriend has been back in touch, talking about what a great time it all was. I'm like ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? He tried to loan me to one of his friends, I had to fight him off, is that supposed to be one of the great times??? I guess I should be grateful I didn't get beat up and was allowed to say no. The whole high school experience was from bad to worst. I was walking down the hall at school one day and the next thing I know I was jerked into an alcove with my back to a corner and this big hulking football player pressing up against me. He had his buddies blocking the ends of the corridors so no one would come in. High school is not something I like to be reminded of.No class reunion for me I guess! It is a long time ago.

Seding huge hugs and good energies to you, IowaFarmGal. I have had terrible experiences in high school too (people being hypocritical and excluding and making fun of those of us who were new kids at the school or those of us who had no interest in parties, drinking or smoking) and in the end I couldn't take it and I had to cut all ties with people who thought "everything was so cool and we were all happy and we all got along great". For the most part, the high school experience was such a trigg for me because of my social phobia and social anxiety. I know my situation it's not the same as yours. Just wanted to say I know what it feels like not wanting to remember high school.

I got kind of hyper about it yesterday. I ended up very tired. Still have it in my mind, woke up tired this morning again. I think I should get busy with something physical today. There's always plenty of work I haven't got around to. I haven't even had a walk for a couple days. Talk to you later.

Just remember you do not have to friend all these people just because they want to be friends. Also you can block anyone who you do not want to hear from. Choices!!!

Missbelle have I hurt your feelings? I do not refuse friend requests, but I am not very socially able. I have just 2 friends here. On facebook my friends are the ones that talk to me with in a group. This is kind of diffuse here and I don't know how to define it. Or maybe I am just wandering. I haven't communicated with you because I don't know where. But I apologize for not being a good friend.

My apologies again. You are talking about facebook. I don't like to reject people. I did tell him honestly that I had no good memories from that time. They were not vicious or I would have been beaten and forced. Also it is 40 years ago and while I broke up with him, I don't expect people to be other than what they are. Also the possibility of his drug use blurring some of the memories for him.

I don't know, is the last post pointless. I mean my last post.

Your experience sounds horrid. What was he thinking to believe this was a good time for you?

My teen years were merely miserable, awkward, and lonely. Now the popular kids keep contacting me to come to the five year reunions. We grew up in the same small neighborhood as they, and they weren't actively cruel; I was just the strange outsider.

But I keep thinking: In what universe do you think high school was a good time for me?

We are coming up the 50th reunion.

I had a very hard time in high school as well. I ended up doing some bad things. Thats what brought me here, is getting rid of the pain and torture of past hurts.
